This is a compressed history of female bodybuilding

The 1970′s was the start of female bodybuilding and the gain of competition. A recent competition added is figure bodybuilding, where participants are assessed on how toned the muscle is as opposed to how large they are. Without having extreme or excessive muscle mass and vascularity that bodybuilding can bring with it, figure body building is for women who want to compete in competitions. In a pageant style competition, contestants are judged from every angle within one or two rounds, depending upon the organization.

Even though bodybuilding for women has been around for about forty years, the first female bodybuilding national event was in 2001, when the National physique Committee held the Figure Nationals, and it became a professional event in 2003. Judges who do figure bodybuilding contests look at the contestant’s gracefulness, poise and confidence, among other things, as well as presentation, style, skin, and symmetry. Adult (female) contestants are in excellent shape and are categorized by their height. A judge is seeking toned muscle definition, but lacking striations and ripples. A number plus a pose suit, which is a two piece swimsuit with many decorations and bright colors, are worn by the contestants to help with identification.

Constitute are several organizations that have begun sponsoring period events to modify the personage exercising lodge all together for interacting and contention. Both the Figure International and Figure Olympia, considered specialized events, are IFBB-certified. While other organizations hold figure bodybuilding competitions, the rules vary from region to region. Those who are already in the bodybuilding sport circuits and those who are interested in muscle physique know very well know about the sport. However, there is no mainstream coverage of the various competitions and events beyond that level. Usually one or two popular sports networks will show coverage of bodybuilding competitions, but often only when there is another regular or fitness competition occuring.

For women, bodybuilding is not usually a good career choice. Unlike men, women bodybuilders have a hard time getting sponsors and award money. There are alot of regular professional workers that started working out daily and got into competition. Female bodybuilders are faced with the additional distress of the public, and conventional opinions opposed to masculine women. Bodybuilding is a form of sculpting the body, be it by sheer mass or toned definition.
